California Coastal Tour

CALIFORNIA COASTAL TOUR is beyond scenic as the tour borders the mighty

Pacific Ocean and all her splendor!  Visit the artsy town of Carmel where driftwood is a main source for its architecture, and the Carmel Mission is one of the most regarded of California’s missions. Monterey, the home of author John Steinbeck, is home to the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, (Monterey Bay is the “aquarium” to watch the sea life in their natural setting as they appear below the waters large glass windows); a walk on the Monterey Bay Pier and through Cannery Row is a step back in history; and the sea lions at the end of the pier are always ready to entertain and have their pictures taken (they don’t even charge, but anchovies and sardines are always welcome).

The 17 Miles Drive including Pebble Beach provides sweeping views of the coastal waters. Coast Highway One is not to be believed as the views are endless, and the power of the Pacific dramatic!  A stop in Big Sur relives the time of the “bohemian era”. Nepenthe, in Big Sur, is a combination restaurant, outdoor cafe, and retail store.  This is a “just chill” stop!  The scenery changes to giant redwood trees as you board the Roaring Camp Railroad, a vintage steam train ride through the redwoods.  Upon your return, the cowboys and shopkeepers greet you with a hearty “Howdy”, and a western barbecue!

(Note: If the tour is scheduled between early October through February, Pacific Grove is included with a stop at the Monarch Sanctuary where thousands of beautiful orange/black Monarch Butterflies gather yearly during their seasonal migration. A viewing experience beyond words!).
